Where Cole started

Cole's family brought their Labrador home at eight weeks old, and he was fully potty trained by then. Smart was never the problem.

Strong was. As he grew, Cole got so rambunctious that his family could not let him around their two small children. Walks were a fight: he pulled so hard that his owner could not take the stroller out for fear he would knock it over.

The training journey

His family did their research and chose Off Leash K9 Training of Las Vegas. Leaving Cole with someone they did not know was hard, and his owner said so. What helped was how comfortable they felt from the very beginning, and then the daily updates from Ernesto.

The videos told them something no progress report could: Cole loved his trainer. You could see it.

What actually changed

• Peace at home. He is still a strong, playful puppy, but he now has the manners to keep the peace.
• No more pulling. The dog who could knock over a stroller now walks with the family.
• Off leash, beside her. In his owner's words, "Now Cole can walk by us without a leash and stay right next to me."

What it changed for his family

The whole reason they called was the kids. A strong young dog who cannot be trusted around small children splits a household in two. After training, his owner wrote that their lives are simply more enjoyable.

Why Cole's story matters to us

A lot of Las Vegas families have a Cole: a big, bright, friendly dog who has outgrown his manners before he has outgrown his energy. Training does not take the playfulness out of a dog like that. It gives the family a dog they can include, which is the point.
